EXPLORE. CELEBRATE. PROMOTE. Girls.
Members of the Radical Brownies, a new girls group out of Oakland, Calif., and loosely based on the community-oriented principles of the Black Panthers. -FACEBOOK

According to the KPIX news station, Radical Brownies was started earlier this year by Marilyn Hollinquest and her friend Anayvette Martinez after Martinez's daughter, Coatlupe, told her she wanted to join a girls group.
"How amazing would it be to have a girls' troop that was really focused around social justice and where girls could even earn badges?" Anayvette Martinez explained.

SUPPORT THE TROOPS. As someone born and raised in Oakland, California I am proud to see the legacy of social activism alive and spreading. More importantly, the youth are taking their leadership abilities seriously and leaving their mark on the social landscape for change. These young girls are creating social art through their activism. This is creative problem solving at its' best! Join them on Facebook to learn how you can support their efforts.
